Appi Kogen

Appi Kogen is one of Japan’s best kept secrets.  Located approximately three and a half hours by bullet train and bus from Tokyo, at the northern end of Honshu, the 282 hectare resort’s north facing slopes keep the snow in top condition through the season.  On average more than 8 metres of dry powder snow falls each season.  The resort is known for its quality of grooming.  There is a wide variety of terrain to suit all abilities, but in particular Appi Kogen is a great area for the beginner and intermediate skiers/boarders.  Some runs are left ungroomed so there is plenty of opportunity for exploring with a guide.   Families are well looked after, with english speaking instructors, kids’ activities and kindergarten facilities. The kids will love the family park with sledding and tubing.   Slopeside accommodation and wide range of dining options completes the picture.
