Park City

A short 35 minutes from Salt Lake City, Park City is one of the most charming and vibrant ski towns in the US. With a rich silver mining history, many of Park City’s original buildings have been converted into restaurants, bars, clubs, shops and art galleries. Park City Mountain Resort is the largest single ski and snowboard resort in the United States and has varied terrain, including great cruisers, impressive tree skiing in well gladed areas and multiple terrain parks, natural half pipes and a super pipe. Park City Mountain Village offers quick access to the resort’s learning area, superb blue runs, and for experts the double blacks off Jupiter Peak are a real challenge. The Quicksilver Gondola connects Park City with the Canyons side of the resort to allow access to even more terrain.

The Pendry

Offering 153 stylish accommodations ranging from king bed  guestrooms to four-bedroom residences, the newly opened Pendry offers ski-in/ski-out access to Park City’s 7,300 acres of exceptional terrain. The hotel features five unique lounge, restaurant and bar experiences, including the only rooftop pool and bar in the area. Indulgent amenities include a ski valet, Spa Pendry, a fitness center, and Pinwheel Kids Club.

Waldorf Astoria

Situated in the Canyons Village at Park City Mountain Resort, steps away from the Frostwood Gondola, the Waldorf Astoria Park City hotel offers stylish lodgings with an array of luxury services. The hotel has elegant  suites and residences with one to four bedrooms and the guestrooms which were all renovated in 2019. Relax with custom designed furniture and enjoy exclusive local artwork featured in the rooms and throughout the property. There is a restaurant, spa, outdoor heated pool and hot tubs.

Canyons Village at Park City

Sundial Lodge

Head to the Ice Castles and Homestead Crater in Heber Valley for a special day out

Just steps away from the Red Pine Gondola and the slopes of Canyons Village, the lodge offers guest rooms, studios, one and two bedroomed condominiums which are decorated in a tasteful mountain theme. The condos all have well-equipped kitchens, stainless steel appliances, warm fireplaces and private balconies. The rooftop swimming pool with hot tub and plunge pool is a popular place to relax at the end your day.

Alta

Open since 1938, Alta is one of the oldest ski areas in the country, attracting skiers of all abilities and to experience its incredible snow – which averages almost 14 meters per season. Devoted skiers return year after year, generation upon generation. While known for its steep and challenging terrain, one of the area’s best kept secret is the easily accessible beginner area in the Albion Basin. And there are wide-open bowls created by glacier activity that are perfect for intermediate skiers. One of only three ski areas in the country that don’t allow snowboarding, Alta is a skier’s only mountain.

Alta Peruvian Lodge

Alta Peruvian Lodge is a traditional, European-style all-inclusive property providing breakfast, lunch and dinner.  There a variety of room types to choose from.  The atmosphere is friendly and inviting.  Amenities include a 24-hour coffee service, a mountain shuttle, wireless internet and a self-service laundry room.  The lobby features chess tables, a warm fireplace and an assortment of board games.

Snowbasin Resort

Composed of three individual, but equally epic areas, Snowbasin Resort offers bucket-list terrain for every type of skier and rider. Just back from a recent winter trip, our Utah expert Jason Grondman named Snowbasin as one of the state’s most picturesque mountains. He says – “Snowbasin has some epically long runs from top to bottom and some amazing hike-to terrain options like chutes and bowls.  The day lodge is pretty spectacular, opulently decorated (think chandeliers, high-ceilinged meeting halls, leather sofas, marbled bathrooms) and well worth a visit!

Courtyard by Marriott Ogden

Discover Snowbasin Resort from the beautiful Courtyard by Marriott Ogden. The hotel is located a stone’s throw from the restaurants and bars of Ogden’s Historic 25th Street and features spacious guestrooms with plush bedding, and a fitness centre with indoor pool and hot tub for relaxing after a big day exploring the mountain.

MSW UTAH TRAVEL TIPS

  • Stop in Salt Lake! With a seemingly endless array of bars, brewpubs, sporting events, museums, restaurants, food trucks and concerts, Salt Lake City is a vibrant and exciting destination to kick start your Utah snow adventures, so we recommend you carve out some time to explore here before heading to the snow. The city makes a great gateway for travelers making a trip to Utah’s ski resorts, with easy access to Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort, along with their four world-class ski resorts close by (Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude) that are all accessible on the one ‘Salt Lake Ski Super Pass’.
  • If you’re planning a family trip this year, consider Midway’s Ice Castles a must-see. Each year artists hand-place thousands of icicles to create magical castles, sculptures and playgrounds that shine bright in front of a rainbow of LED lights. It’s a contender for ultimate winter family photo, and a winter wonderland the kids won’t soon forget.
