WHY ASPEN SNOWMASS?
Consistently rated one of the world’s top snow destinations, Aspen Snowmass is unlike any other winter holiday destination. The winter wonderland boasts world class skiing and riding that beckons snow sports aficionados from around the world. With four incredible mountains, each with its own unique drawcards, and an incredible variety of outdoor recreation, arts & culture, shopping and cosmopolitan nightlife. A snow holiday to Aspen Snowmass will lift you up and leave you transformed.
Let’s start with the mountains.
- Snowmass Mountain is the largest of the four mountains, with over 3,300 acres of skiable terrain. It’s a favourite among families and intermediate skiers due to its wide and groomed runs, and also has some good expert skiing with some hike-to terrain so it’s great for all types of skiers. Snowmass also has an extensive terrain park for snowboarders and freestyle skiers, as well as a dedicated kids’ ski and snowboard school.
- Aspen Mountain, is the iconic mountain that put Aspen on the map. It offers steep and challenging terrain for advanced skiers and snowboarders, including the famous black diamond runs such as Face of Bell. Aspen also has top to bottom groomed options for intermediate skiers and riders, and boasts stunning views of the town and surrounding peaks.
- Aspen Highlands is the mountain for expert skiers and snowboarders, with its steep and rugged terrain. It’s home to the legendary Highland Bowl, a massive bowl that requires a 45-minute hike to access but offers an unforgettable skiing experience. Highlands also has a variety of intermediate and beginner runs, making it a great mountain for groups with varying skill levels.
- Buttermilk Mountain is the smallest of the four mountains and is known for its beginner and intermediate terrain. It’s a great mountain for families and beginners to learn and improve their skiing and snowboarding skills. Buttermilk is also home to the Winter X Games, one of the biggest winter sports events in the world.

Now, let’s talk about what’s new for next winter.
Aspen Snowmass will open a brand-new ski area this coming winter – Pandora’s, located on Aspen Mountain. The new Pandora’s terrain will be accessed by a high-speed quad and add 153 acres of skiing and riding, including 1,220 vertical feet of groomed trails and glades ranging from intermediate to advanced (plus an extension of favourite expert runs such as Walsh’s, Kristi, Hyrup’s).
