Located in the stunning Skeena Range of Northern BC, well off the tourist trail, this back country paradise offers some of the planet’s deepest, driest, and most reliable snowpacks. The terrain is wild and expansive, featuring alpine bowls, immense glaciers, steep couloirs and epic tree skiing. With 5,500 sq kms of big mountain, powder skiing as your exclusive playground, it truly doesn’t get any better.
With quick access to their three boutique, luxury lodges from Terrace airport (a short 1.5 hour flight from Vancouver), Northern Escape is easily British Columbia’s most accessible heli ski and heli boarding operator. From the lodge, small groups of just five or six skiers and riders are transported using the fastest and most agile machine in the business – the Italian-made Agusta Koala helicopter. And as a back up, they are one of the only operations to have snowcats at the ready, so you’re able to ski and ride even on storm days when the helicopters can’t fly.
After big powder days on the mountains, Northern Escape’s Yellow Cedar Lodge offers the perfect place to unwind. Located on the banks of the Skeena River, just 20mins by shuttle from Terrace Airport, the Lodge is a classic Canadian mountain chalet, accommodating just 18 guests in a remote setting. Enjoy the ‘boutique’ atmosphere and relaxed ambience of the lodge which offers a choice of single or double occupancy rooms, each with their own ensuite bathrooms. Northern Escape’s friendly staff are on hand to ensure you have the trip of a lifetime, serving award-winning local wines and delicious meals created with sustainable produce such as wild sockeye salmon and local venison.

With two mammoth, side-by-side mountain playgrounds offering a combined total of over 200 marked runs, 8,171 acres of terrain, 16 alpine bowls and three glaciers, not to mention the endless options of the Village, it’s the ideal prelude to your heli adventure.
