Wanaka
Lake Wanaka lies at the heart of the Southern Lakes, New Zealand’s alpine wonderland, in the southwest of the South Island. Wanaka Township is situated at the gateway to the Mt Aspiring National Park a world heritage area. The village of Wanaka is compact and situated on the gently sloping lakeshore. From most accommodation, it is an easy walk to shops and restaurants. There is a shuttle bus that provides a daily link around the town. There is also a taxi service and car or bike hire is readily available.
