UNITED STATES

DEER VALLEY, UTAH 

Famed for its flawlessly groomed runs and luxury, skier-only experience, Deer Valley is set for a game-changing expansion in the 2025/26 season. The Deer Valley Expanded Excellence project will double the resort’s skiable terrain, adding 3,700 acres, 110 new trails, and nine additional chairlifts, including a cutting-edge ten-person gondola.

The transformation extends beyond the slopes with the debut of a vibrant new East Village, featuring luxury accommodations, fine dining, and high-end retail. Ushering in a new level of sophistication, Deer Valley East Village is home to the new Grand Hyatt Deer Valley which opened this winter, and a highly anticipated five- and six-star hotel and resort collection, including the new Four Seasons Deer Valley. With this expansion, Deer Valley is elevating its reputation as one of the world’s premier ski destinations.

ASPEN SNOWMASS, COLORADO

If you haven’t been to Aspen Snowmass in a while, now is the perfect time to plan your return! The transformation of Snowmass Base Village and exciting on-mountain developments are making this world-class destination even better. The revitalized village now features new luxury lodging and residential properties, along with a vibrant lineup of family-friendly events and activities. Visitors can enjoy art installations, free ice skating, a brand-new kids’ entertainment center, plus an expanded selection of dining, shopping, and après-ski experiences.

Meanwhile, over on Aspen Mountain, the debut of Hero’s terrain and a new high-speed quad chairlift has added 153 acres of fresh terrain, increasing skiable space by over 20% on the mountain’s upper eastern slopes. This exciting expansion offers 19 chutes, three expansive gladed areas, and four new cut trails, delivering even more world-class skiing and riding for the 2025/26 season.

CANADA

WHISTLER BLACKCOMB, BC 

Whistler’s vast terrain delivers an unmatched thrill, complemented by the lively energy of its pedestrian alpine village. As one of North America’s premier snow destinations, the resort is gearing up for an exciting 2025/26 season with expanded terrain, upgraded lifts to cut down wait times, and enhanced grooming operations for an even smoother ride. Beyond the slopes, Whistler’s diverse dining scene sets it apart from other ski resorts, and next season will bring an array of new restaurants, cafés, and après-ski hotspots to explore. With these upgrades, fresh culinary experiences, and consistently strong snow conditions, Whistler remains an unmissable destination for the season ahead.

SUN PEAKS, BC 

This winter was a big one at Sun Peaks in beautiful British Columbia and the fun is set to continue in 2025/26. The opening of the new West Bowl Express high speed quad chairlift has granted access to a zone of terrain located in the alpine of Tod Mountain, one of the resort’s highest elevation skiable areas. With breathtaking panoramic views on a sunny, south facing aspect, West Bowl offers a fantastic new pod of intermediate terrain, plenty of cruisey blue runs to enjoy and reliable snow conditions.

JAPAN

NISEKO, HOKKAIDO

Renowned worldwide for its legendary powder, Niseko is set for an exciting evolution as Japan’s tourism boom continues post-Covid. In 2025, the resort will welcome a wave of premium new lodging, shopping, and dining options, along with significant on-mountain upgrades. A state-of-the-art high-speed, heated chairlift will enhance mid-mountain access, building on the cutting-edge gondola debuting in the 2024/25 season. Adding to the appeal for next winter, Qantas is launching direct flights to Sapporo, slashing travel time and making Niseko more accessible than ever.

THE DOLOMITES, ITALY

The Dolomiti Superski region boasts over 1,200 kilometers of skiable terrain, spanning 12 resorts interconnected by a seamless lift system. With breathtaking scenery, charming alpine villages, and renowned on-mountain dining experiences, the Dolomites provides an unbeatable blend of world-class skiing and Italian hospitality. 

With the 2026 Winter Olympics on the horizon, the region is undergoing significant infrastructure enhancements, including new lift systems and expanded snowmaking capabilities. These upgrades will further improve slope access and guarantee even more reliable snow conditions, making the Dolomites an even more enticing destination for skiers.

VAL THORENS, FRANCE

Sitting at an impressive 3,230 meters, Val Thorens—Europe’s highest ski resort—is gearing up for an exciting 2025/26 season with a wave of new developments. Leading the upgrades is the state-of-the-art 2 Lacs gondola, a 10-seater lift designed to improve comfort and accessibility, particularly for families. Replacing the previous 2 Lacs chairlift, this modern addition provides seamless access to newly designed beginner-friendly green runs, making it easier than ever for newcomers to enjoy the slopes.

Beyond the lifts, Val Thorens’ legendary après-ski scene is set to get even better, with new venues and events ensuring lively entertainment long after the last run of the day. Adding to the excitement, the resort will host a leg of the Freeride World Tour from January 27 to February 1, 2025, bringing the world’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders to its renowned terrain. With cutting-edge infrastructure, an electric après atmosphere, and world-class skiing, Val Thorens remains one of the top must-visit ski destinations for the 2025/26 season.
